Application for LaunchCode’s Free Fall Coding Class Now Open

HILLSBOROUGH AND PINELLAS COUNTIES, FL – LaunchCode, a national nonprofit that connects aspiring technologists with apprenticeships and jobs in tech, has opened applications for LC 101 Tampa Bay, a free 23-week computer programming course designed to put people on a path towards a career in technology. The class will be offered in partnership with CareerSource Tampa Bay at CareerSource’s Career Center on N. Florida Avenue. Registration is now open at www.launchcode.org/lc101. “LaunchCode’s mission is to make having a good-paying, rewarding career in technology accessible to everyone. To this end, LC 101 is free, part-time, and gives participants the in-demand skills that they need to launch their careers,” said Matt Mawhinney, Florida Program Director at LaunchCode. “As a TechHire Community we are creating ways to improve our community for the tech companies and employees,” states Edward Peachey, president & CEO of CareerSource Tampa Bay. “We see working with LaunchCode as part of the effort to make sure the opportunities in our region’s growing tech economy are broadly accessible.” WHO: Anyone 18 years old or older with the aptitude and drive to gain coding skills to further their current career, or begin a new career in tech– no previous coding experience required.
