A member of the Adventist Health System, Florida Hospital Carrollwood is a 120-bed community hospital specializing in an array of services that meet their mission of healing the mind, body and spirit, including spine and orthopedic surgery, cardiac and neurological services and metabolic and bariatric weight loss surgery. Their knee and metabolic and bariatric weight loss surgeons are known for their innovative procedures and revision work, and world-renowned spine surgeons perform specialized procedures not available anywhere else. Florida Hospital Carrollwood is the only hospital in the eight-county area to utilize the Mazor Renaissance™ Spine Robot. Florida Hospital Carrollwood has earned The Joint Commission’s Advanced Certification for Primary Stroke Centers and is the only hospital in Hillsborough to earn The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval™ Accreditations in Advanced Inpatient Diabetes and Spinal Surgery. Florida Hospital Carrollwood holds the Surgical Review Corporation Center of Excellence designation for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery.

Joe Johnson, President and CEO

Joe Johnson has been President and CEO at Florida Hospital Carrollwood since September 2012. He held the position of COO at Florida Hospital Tampa, the flagship hospital in the Florida Hospital Tampa Bay Region, since 2011. In this capacity, he was responsible for the strategic operations of the hospital, establishing a stronger focus on service line development and improvement of key metrics. In addition, Johnson was working closely with Florida Hospital Carrollwood on physician alignment and inter-hospital shared services. Johnson’s career with Adventist Health System began in 1985. Prior to joining Florida Hospital Tampa, he served as President and CEO of Florida Hospital Fish Memorial for 13 years. He has held various other roles, including Director of Marketing/Planning at Florida Hospital Orlando and Vice President of Florida Hospital Heartland in Sebring. Johnson holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Walla Walla College and a master’s degree from the Florida Institute of Technology.
