Gov. Scott: Tampa Area Led State with Most Jobs Created in the Last Year

    TAMPA, Fla. — Today, Governor Rick Scott announced that the Tampa area added 39,700 new private-sector jobs in the last year, the highest number of jobs among all metro areas. Tampa’s unemployment rate was 4.1 percent, down 0.8 percentage point from one year ago. Statewide, Florida businesses created 26,300 new jobs in July and the unemployment rate remained at the lowest rate since July 2007, 4.1 percent. Since December 2010, Florida businesses have created 1,422,700 new private-sector jobs. … Continued
