Tampa Downtown Partnership

 

 

Tampa Downtown Partnership is a private, not-for-profit 501(c)(6) organization. It is a membership organization comprised of companies, organizations, and individuals with a common goal of advancing Downtown Tampa. Through an annual contract with the City of Tampa, Tampa Downtown Partnership administers the Special Services District. In addition to Tampa’s Downtown Guides and Clean Team, Tampa Downtown Partnership works to promote Downtown through marketing, communication, advocacy, marketplace development, planning, transportation coordination, beautification, and placemaking.

Christine Burdick, President and CEO

Christine Burdick became the president of the Tampa Downtown Partnership in April 2002.  Originally from Chicago, she worked first with Mayor Richard Daley and then as an independent consultant, creating strategies for revitalization and economic development in urban commercial settings.  From 1993 to 1997, Ms. Burdick was president of the Lincoln Road Partnership, directing the revitalization of Lincoln Road in Miami Beach.

Ms. Burdick is a member of the International Downtown Association, the Urban Land Institute (ULI) and the International Council of Shopping Centers.  Locally, she is a trustee of the University of Tampa and of Tampa Preparatory School; Board Director of the Friends of the Riverwalk, Florida Aquarium, the Greater Tampa Chamber of Commerce, Tampa Hillsborough Economic Development Corp. and the Public Art Alliance; an Advisory Board member of Visit Tampa Bay; and the Salvation Army Tampa Command.  She also serves as an Encore Community Development District Board Supervisor.
