Resistacap Energy Products to hire up to 100 local employees

TAMPA, Fla. – (May 17, 2018) – Resistacap Energy Products, a leading turn-key source for custom batteries, battery packs, and batter chargers, today announced that it will relocate its headquarters from Huntsville, Alabama to Hillsborough County. The company will hire 100 local employees for a range of positions including assembly, soldering, welding and accounting. The company also plans to invest up to $500,000 in the project for equipment and building renovations.

“We have chosen to relocate our corporate headquarters to Tampa because many of our targeted industries are well represented in the area, coupled with a friendly business environment that will support our continued growth,” said Gary Bolohan, president of Resistacap Energy Products. “We appreciate the support we’ve received from the Tampa Hillsborough EDC during this process, particularly with connecting us to resources to help fulfill our workforce needs.”

For more than 30 years, Original Equipment Manufacturers have relied on Resistacap Energy Products to deliver custom batteries, battery packs and battery chargers that are crucial to new product success. Resistacap provides a variety of complex, leading-edge applications to the medical, military and aerospace, safety and security, and hand-held electronics industries for such products as respirators, portable X-ray systems, patient monitoring devices, defibrillators, night vision cameras, surveillance equipment and portable data terminals.

The Tampa Hillsborough EDC supported Resistacap with workforce assistance including recruitment for open positions and training grants, and connections to resources that can help them with sales tax exemptions.

The company’s new headquarters will be located at 12180 Race Track Rd. The company has acquired ISO-9001-2105 and ISO 13485-2016 certifications for the facility, which are standards used to demonstrate the ability to consistently provide products and services that meet customer and regulatory requirements. Over the next year, Resistacap plans to increase the size of its facility from 5,000 square feet to 15,000 square feet.

Resistacap joins a growing list of companies that have chosen to relocate their headquarters to Hillsborough County, including BlueLine Associates, The Mosaic Company, and Vendita Technology Group.

“We thank Resistacap for choosing Hillsborough County as their new headquarters home,” said Alan F. List, MD, chairman of the Tampa Hillsborough Economic Development Corporation and president and CEO of Moffitt Cancer Center. “Like many other leading manufacturing operations, Resistacap recognizes that Hillsborough County offers the skilled workforce and supportive business environment that will help them grow and stay competitive.
