Global Tampa Bay heads to Brazil with eight local companies

August 7, 2019

Eight Tampa Bay companies ranging from a brewery to a drone technology company are headed to Brazil next week for Global Tampa Bay’s latest export sales mission.

Through the U.S. Commercial Service, these local companies already have meetings set up with prospective customers upon arrival. It will be a whirlwind trip for these companies, but the opportunity to break into a new market means growth for these local companies and a boost to our local economy with the creation of more jobs.

“When you find a new consumer base in a market like that, you can grow your company exponentially,’” said Madison Lawson, the Global Tampa Bay regional director and the international business manager with the Tampa Hillsborough Economic Development Corporation.

Tampa-based Fly Motion is one of the companies attending the Brazil trip and hoping to expand their business overseas. They’re already experiencing growth and the additional business will allow the company to invest back into the Tampa Bay area with more jobs.

“We are having to look at a new facility. We are further putting money back into the economy by adding jobs, purchasing real estate, things of that nature,” said Ryan English, CEO and co-founder of Fly Motion.
