Hillsborough County’s population set to outpace nation’s over the next 5 years

By 2024, Hillsborough County’s population is expected to grow by 8.7%. That is more than the state of Florida’s projected growth of 7%, the Tampa MSA’s 6.8%, and the nation’s 3.9%.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Currently, Hillsborough County has a population of more than 1.4 million. Over the next 5 years, the county is projected to add 126,300 more residents, bringing the total to 1.5 million. Tampa zip code 33602, which includes downtown Tampa, is projected to grow the most at 3.3%, followed by the south county zip codes of Riverview, Lithia, Apollo Beach and Ruskin.
