Seen on TV: New manufacturing facility in Plant City turns waste into alternative fuel to power other industries

April 12, 2019

MLMC Florida celebrated the grand opening of its new Plant City manufacturing facility on April 11. The first-of-its-kind facility takes waste from large retail and industrial businesses like Rooms to Go and Williams Sonoma and turns it into an alternative fuel source to power large facilities like plants and paper mills.

The company helps protect the environment in two ways: it eliminates hundreds of thousands of tons of waste from landfills each year while producing a fuel source that can be used as an alternative to coal.

Packaging materials, Styrofoam, bubble wrap and other items people would never think to recycle are shredded and packed into small cubes called Enviro-Fuelcubes at the facility and shipped off to clients to use a substitute to generate heat for their plants and processes.

MLMC Florida announced last September that it chose Plant City for the new facility that will create 45 new high-paying jobs.
